What to expect at Carlisle Avenue

We hope you will find Carlisle to be friendly and inviting. We are by no means a perfect church, but we do serve a perfect Savior. It is our mission to make much of Jesus every time we gather as a faith family. Part of that is welcoming our guests with open arms and smiling faces. We would be honored to have you join us! Here are some things that might help with your visit.

  • Our main parking lot is behind the church building, so most people enter through the back entrance. It's clearly marked and there will be someone ready to greet you with a smile!
  • COME AS YOU ARE! We have a lot of "diversity of dress" at Carlisle. You will see some people in suits, some people in athletic wear, and anything in between. Dress doesn't matter, only the attitude of our hearts.
  • We have classes for all ages - babies through senior adults.

  • PARENTS - Our nursery & children's area is clean and well staffed. There are age-appropriate options for your children during our morning worship service. Children 0-2 years are welcome to stay in our nursery. We have a "Lullaby Room" located next door to our nursery that is reserved especially for nursing mothers. For ages 3-4 years we have a service called "Wee Worship" where our little ones play, sing, and learn a bible lesson. School age (K-2nd grade) children will worship with the congregation, but head to "Children's Church" during the sermon for an age-appropriate bible lesson.
  • Our worship style is most-easily described as "blended". We have a band. We have a choir (usually). We sing gospel-centered songs (hymns and praise songs). Carlisle is a generationally diverse congregation. We want everyone to be able to worship without any person or group feeling left behind. So in short, if it's gospel-centered ... we sing it!
  • We want Christ and His Word to be central in our services - Christ is central and the Bible is His word. Therefore, the Word of God is the source and power of all of our teaching, preaching, and ministry.

Our Bible Study Classes (sunday school)

The Gospel Project takes the entire church on a chronological, Christ-centered journey through the storyline of Scripture. Participants will encounter God's plan of redemption in Scripture through study of Bible narrative, the essential doctrines of the faith, and the call to join in God's mission locally and globally.

  • Christ-centered: Each session points to Christ as the Hero of the story and shows how the gospel transforms hearts and applies to every area of life.
  • Chronological: 3-year cycle from Genesis to Revelation
  • Age Aligned: Adults, students, and kids can study the same story each week.

CONNECT WORSHIP/ sunday evenings (6pm)

We always have a worship option on Sunday nights. For most of the year we have a very visitor friendly service called CONNECT WORSHIP. Along with CONNECT,  we offer discipleship classes on Sunday nights several times a year. Here are some more details...

  • CONNECT WORSHIP - The goal of connect is simple: to help people connect to God and each other. We start each connect service with coffee and conversation. Next we sing, pray together, and then have a short sermon from God's Word. We hope to see you at our next connect worship service!
  • DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES  - Throughout the year, we offer several discipleship classes designed to help us grow our faith, our sense of community, and our ability to make disciples. These classes range from a group studying a book of the bible together to going through a study on marriage, family, finance, etc... Some of our past classes include: The book of Acts, Evangelism & Discipleship Basics, The Art of Marriage by Family LIfe, Dave Ramey's Financial Peace University,  I Am a Church Member by Thom Rainer, and Connection Point: Helping Others Follow Jesus.
